Warm season grass
– (1) Grass that grows vigorously in warm summer months and generally loses its green color and is dormant in the winter if the average air temperature drops below 50 to 60 degrees Farenheit. Some warm season grasses may die if exposed to subfreezing temperatures for extended periods. (2) Cold-intolerant grass with an optimum temperature range of 27° to 35°C (80° to 95°F). Examples of warm season grasses include bermudagrass and buffalograss.
Weeping lovegrass – A perennial, warm-season forage which stockpiles well and should last well into the winter with adequate protein supplement.
Windrow
- A row of raked hay that is drying before being baled; also used as a verb.
